Webinars and Public Comments

TAB

The DEP will be hosting a webinar on on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at 2:30 p.m.regarding a permit revision for temporary road crossings. To learn more about this revision visit this link:
The public is welcome to comment on the revision until Jan 10. The permit, if approved would allow for the construction, operation, maintenance and removal of various types of temporary crossings through bodies of water and wetlands.

The public comment period is also open for proposed changes in the regulations regarding surface activities related to oil and gas well permitting. The Oil and Gas Technical Advisory Board (TAB) has proposed these changes and sent the proposals to the Environmental Quality Board (EQB) for review. *The Oil and Gas TAB  is comprised mainly of industry representatives.
The Oil and Gas TAB worked for over a year developing these changes The public comment period opened on Saturday, Dec. 14, and comments will be accepted until Feb. 12th, 2014.

The EQB desperately needs input from the citizens who have suffered or have witnessed environmental and/or societal harm.

Comments may be mailed, sent by email and/or folks may present verbal testimony at one of the 7 hearings which will be held across the state Jan 7- 23.
Visit the following link for additional tips and instructions: http://www.ahs.dep.pa.gov/RegComments/Agreement.aspx

Many citizens living in the oil and gas regions of Pennsylvania don’t have access to the internet, so please share this information to others who are not as privileged.

* the DEP has not updated the (online) list of TAB members and membership has changed, so who actually proposed these changes is unclear.
