Study: Gas Drilling Could Seriously Damage Tourism

Corning, N.Y. - A new study raises serious questions about the impact of natural gas drilling in the Marcellus Shale on tourism in the Southern Tier.

The report was done by the Southern Tier Central Regional Planning and Development board which covers, Chemung, Steuben and Schuyler counties.

The report says tourism related businesses would benefit from the short term drilling boom with gas workers filling up hotels, restaurants and other businesses.
