Methane Gas Found in Lycoming County Drinking Wells

Moreland Township, Lycoming County - The DEP has confirmed high levels of methane gas in several drinking wells in a Lycoming County community. State officials are looking into how that gas ended up in drinking water and property owners are waiting patiently for answers.

Glen Temple has lived in his home in Moreland Township for over 40 years. He says he's never had a problem with his water until last week when DEP and XTO Energy officials came to his house to test his drinking water and found levels of methane gas.

Glen Temple says, "They told us it was low levels. There's no secret about it. Ours is very low. We have some neighbors who's is a little higher."Read More
