Neighbors band together against metering station - News - Citizens Voice

DALLAS TWP. - Except for an occasional car on Hildebrandt Road in the distance and early spring peepers calling to each other, the woods behind John and Sonia Maslowski's house are quiet.

"This will all be gone," Sonia Maslowski said grimly.

Then John Maslowski noticed the trees with new bright pink plastic ribbons tied around them. He knew they were to mark off where their neighbor's property begins and theirs ends - and where the Maslowskis fear their peace of mind will end.

The Maslowskis and their neighbors on Fair Grounds Road, Wayne and Patricia Dottor, retained attorney Mark McNeilis to help them in their fight to prevent Chief Gathering LLC from placing a natural gas metering station on the adjacent property owned by Robert and Jacqueline Hayes.

The Dallas, Texas-based company's plans to build the metering station have generated a lot of controversy throughout the community due to the site's proximity to the four schools in the Dallas district. A compressor station originally slated for the property is now planned for a different site.
